Slavica Ceperkovic was born in Canada, and is of Serbian decent. Her work is influenced by mythic realism, arte povera, and traditional folklore. Mainly focusing in developing projects within the new media genre, her work and engages viewers in unique and innovative ways, often incorporating the audience as the extension of the work. Her use of the computer acts as translator, as a second interpretive voice to magnify to create detailed fantastical narratives and scenarios.

Slavica has hosted lab workshops, exhibited her work and has lectured on new media issues in Europe, Canada, United States and South America. Slavica was the visiting artist faculty member at Alberta College of Art and Design in the Media Arts Digital Technologies department for the academic year of 2003/2004. She went on to oversee the Co-production department at the Banff New Media Institute (BMNI) in Banff Alberta from 2004 to 2006 and managed the CFC's Interactive Art and Entertainment program from 2006-2007.

Slavica Ceperkovic holds a BFA in New Media Studies from Ryerson University, and a graduate degree from Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains. She currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
